Weathering The Storm

What's good blog world? Despite all of my best efforts, I can honestly say that this has perhaps been my worst semester in a while and as I'm sitting here, I am truly about to take it with a grain of salt and view it as my best learning experience. For those going through similar issues, I want to offer my own analysis that has guided me through these stressful times...

As we are all getting older, we seem to want to compare what we accomplish with what we did this year and though this is the easiest method of analysis, we need to look at the race we are running as a whole instead of a lot of different components. Though there are going to be highs and lows that we face as we grow, we must realize that we are working towards ourselves the best current representation of ourselves. If we are not working towards an ultimate end of being the best we can in each activity we do, that is the best sign that we need not be doing whatever we are doing. Even if you are failing at a particular action, failure is the best teacher. Sometimes it takes failing a class, failing in a relationship, or failing at a job to allow us to see what we need to do in life. Failure should never instill fear, but rather instill knowledge, experience, wisdom, and guidance. The only fear that we should have is not trying, because until you put your best foot forward, you never know what you can achieve....

While we are not afraid of failure or of trying, change must be added to that list as well, as it it falls into the same group as not trying. While we never know the day or time that we will lead this Earth, that should not influence whether or not we want to change or try something new. As long as you have breath in your lungs, and the ability to do it, change should be always on your path because a life that lacks change is a life that lacks fulfillment. As I've previously said, at the end of your lifetime, you would rather be known as a person in the process of change, instead of being stagnant and satisfied. There is always more to accomplish and if you never finish the process of changing to what you wanted to achieve, the steps within the process should be enough to motivate yourself to continue. Not everyone is meant to be a CEO or the President, but everyone is meant to be happy in life; work towards finding your role in this role and mastering it. Just because you aren't meant to be #1 in the field that everyone is shooting for, does not mean that your stats do not count. Don't compare yourself to what others are achieving, instead compare yourself to who you used to be, who you currently are, and to who you are going to be....

As cliche as it is, it is still quite true that sunshine wouldn't feel as good as it does without rain, and I think when it is flooding is when we need to remind ourselves this the much, as much as we need to pray when things go bad just as much as we need to when things are great. When situations appear to be unconquerable and overwhelming, remember that you have made it this far and reflect on the strength that you've used to make it here and consider ways to use it to master this situation. I guarantee that God doesn't put us in situations that we don't have the strength to get past. We just must combine His strength with our own efforts because faith without works is dead. Know that whatever you are going through right now, you are growing and if you don't believe so, look at the old you and the current you, and move forward accordingly...

Heaven never helps the man who will not act.
