Food For Your Soul

What's going on blog world? I had been kind of hit by writer's block and even thinker's block but I received help from input by one of my friends as she discussed her love for food lol. I want to take that love for food to another level to discuss what we are feeding ourselves mentally and physically and how that is affecting our growth. Everything we take in on daily basis has a strong effect on how we live, who we are, and what we do?...So what are you eating?

Now while I know I am not the healthiest eater because I love my sweet baby ray's, my chicken patties, chicken wings, burgers, cookies and so forth and so forth, it's still possible to potentially balance that out with some exercise and some minimal healthy additions. Walking to class helps with that, working out in the gym a couple times a week helps with that, drinking water instead of pop at some meals helps with that, just make some small changes. But if I do have to die over food, I want it to be for the food I already listed haha...These minimal changes go beyond just what we eat though, but to what we say, listen to, and get influenced by....

I've really started to notice that lately I've become more of a Waka Flocka Flame and Gucci Mane fan than I perhaps ever wanted to but this is a perfect example of knowing what we are taking in and how to properply analyze. Many try to blame hip hop for the ills of tihs world but the blame belongs on how people understand it. We have to realize that with most of these rappers, they are simply telling the story of the lives they have lived and may still be living. That is why I've come to respect Waka and Gucci and Wayne and SouljaBoyTellEm because they rap about topics that they actually live and why I hate Plies as an artist because he's created an image that many claim he has no actual experience with. If that's not who you are, then don't try to sell that to people....Back to my original purpose though because rap music and really music of all genres can be beneficial to people as long as they are taken in the proper portion and understood. They say that parents shouldn't allow their children to listen to this type of music but it's really more important that the parents don't allow their children to listen to this music without proper guidance, just as they shouldn't allow them to see R-Rated movies without aiding them in their understanding. Influences such as music should be taken in proper does with a good hint of understanding...

Not oonly do you need to make sure that you understand the music you are listening to and the purpose of it, make sure that you are understanding the purpose of the individuals in your life. If your life is filled with people that lack progression and represent your old intentions and goals, you will never reach the highest height that you can. You have to have people around you or at least look at the examples of people that have done more than you, been through worse than you, and achieved the highest heights to sort of develop your own road map in this life. Many say that once you achieve a certain level of success, you must cut ties with those beneath you but that couldn't be further from the truth. You just need to readjust your standing with them. Just as you needed a role model to progress, you never know what type of positive effect you can have on those around you. But cutting them off prevents all of that from happening....

Learn to take all of the influencing forces in your life, positive and negative, with a grain of salt and a pound of knowledge, to continue to develop yourself as a person. Because you should never stop improving in this life until you stop living...

Hope that this proved to be good food for your soul....
