What's going on blog world? This is part 2 of a 5 part series that I'm working on. I noted 5 positive actions that can possibly change your entire life and I'm addressing the second one with this post; "2. Take time to pat yourself on the back." Too often we forget that at the end of the day, we are the only one that has to deal with ourselves so why make that relationship anything but a positive, budding, inspirational one?...
I recently told a close friend that if you don't believe in yourself, it does not matter if the whole world is on your side, you will still fail. The facade will always fail. You must be willing to make your inside match your outside or perhaps even exceed it, but never shadow it. Saying that, even if you are not the most attractive person by the dictation of society, you still have to believe in yourself because self confidence is easily the most appealing trait that a person could have. Many struggle with balancing self confidence and being cocky. The difference between the two is self confidence simply recognizes the fact that you are a beautifully created creature and equal to any other person in this world, and cockiness involves placing yourself other individuals. We are all placed on this world to interact with each other and thus no matter what our place in society may lead us to falsely believe, we all must accommodate for those that inhabit this world with us.
While this does require a great amount of selfLESSness, I still recommend that we all take time to be selfish at times. This all should remain as a mental state and used to motivate only...
You have to pat yourself on the back from time to time. While we always are looking towards the future and what we want to accomplish, your future goals cannot diminish your current accomplishments because too often, we seek things we don't have yet and lose appreciation for what is in front of us. Current accomplishments are the basis for future achievements, instead of two different occurrences. Take time to reflect on what you have done, use that to influence what you will do, all that while making sure you are at your best for what you need to be doing. Stop looking at other people's lives for inspiration, motivation and lessons because I guarantee that you have achieved a lot more then you give yourself credit for. Just because we all have achieved different levels of success, stop using others to measure yourself, and instead just believe that you are where you are supposed to be in life and that you will end up where you are supposed to be consequently...
As always hope that this helps, because nothing disheartens me more then to see a person that has lost faith in him or herself. Just as we look at celebrities, athletes, movie stars, musicians and politicians and believe that they will not disappoint us and put the best product out forth and place them on such a high pedestal, we must place ourselves on the same pedestal. We have to believe that we can graduate from college, start our own businesses, achieve our childhood stardom dreams in music, sports, the arts, or the sciences and raise a family that will help positively mold the future. We are all human beings and thus all have the opportunity to max out our potential. It all starts with a little belief...IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, WHAT IS THE POINT OF EVEN TRYING??
