A close friend of mine showed me one of the quotes from one of the writings of our friend and the quote stuck out to me instantly.
"...And just when the caterpillar thought that life was over, it became a butterfly." - Skittles
That can be applied to so much and I attempt to live by that motto and help others see that they should live by that mantra as well. Problems in life can truly bring individuals down but you must realize that as long as you are still here to speak on the problems, you still have a chance to make a chance for yourself. Financially, education wise, socially and any other aspects that may trouble you can be altered by a positive outlook and approach.
Grades not how you would like? For many that I am speaking to, you just finished your first year of college or your last year of high school, meaning that you have plenty of time to make your stamp. Students entering into college, I beg that you enter into college with a strong sense of making your stamp because I guarantee that it is easier to maintain a high GPA rather than simply having to dig yourself out of a whole. And to those that have dug yourself into a hole, please believe that you are not defeated yet. Until you cannot take another class and raise your GPA, it is of the utmost importance that you attempt to improve your grades. And not so that you become fixated on a numerical figure but more importantly knowing that you placed your best effort forward and have your hard work paid back to you. If you are not going to do your best, at the end of the day you are simply wasting your own time. Each day in life should feature you consciously deciding that you are going to take control of your life and move closer to your dreams.
Now it seems that I shifted away from my friend but in actuality this all connects to her. She was a wonderful and loving person that struggled with the ills of the world as we all did but she kept a smile on no matter what and never allowed her own personal problems to interfere with the relationships that she held with people.
"Whether or not we realize it, each of us has within us the ability to set some kind of example for people. Knowing this would you rather be known for being the one who encouraged others, or the one who inadvertently discouraged those around you?" - Josh Hinds
I take it to heart when I influence others because I know that with even a small effort I'm helping change the world. She helped me perhaps more then she ever will know while she was leaving and posthumously as well. I hope that your own personal battles were alleviated somehow through reading this because that's all I aim for.
God Bless...PromoDave Signing Out...
