What's going on blog world? I was highly motivated by my trip to church this morning and even wrote the majority of this while sitting in church on my dash. The pastor asked if someone were to study you, would they be able to tell that you are a Christian. That is exactly what I want to address on today.
I know that some reading this may not be Christians so I simply want to question whether or not your behavior represent that of a useful and productive individual. Simply being a Christian or a good person by title is not satisfactory. Outward appearances cannot authentically represent change because if your heart remains the same, then you still allow yourself to slip back down the same slope you originally fell down. Just as an outward appearance cannot simply reflect change, an outward appearance is of the utmost importance for change. Your heart can be good but if you don't allow the Godly love that has touched it, you are serving a self defeating purpose. It is the same notion as studying weeks for an exam and knowing all the right answers but consciously selecting the wrong answers. Similarly, it is like knowing the despair that heartbreak can bring into your own life but then proceeding to cheat on your own spouse. Finally, it is similar to knowing that you have an infectious disease and knowing a vaccination is available and not receiving it and therefore creating the possibility to spread the disease...
I don't mean to continuously bang on the point but that is how much ignorance gets to me. Stop returning to your abusive spouse simply because you do not thing that you deserve anything more. You deserve the world. Stop allowing those around you to enforce negative decisions in your life because you think that is the only way to be happy. You deserve nothing but positive influences. Stop resiting change in your life because you are afraid of failing. You deserve nothing but the best.
The best cannot be achieved without some outward and inward work that can be aided greatly by dedicating your life to the improvement of the world through the aid and the love of God. I hope that you all (and I include myself in this) begin to allow all of the opportunities that are out there for you begin to enter your life despite whatever difficult road that must be conquered. Please know that if I tagged you or not, if we are friends or not, if we are Facebook friends or not, I believe that you are fully capable of achieving everything in this life. The first step is believing in yourself.

Skittle Love (A Motivational Piece/Blog)
What's going on blog world? I feel that I would not have done my friend's memory justice and my own talents justice if I did not dedicate a piece of writing to her. I'm not going to simply focus on the hurt and sadness that I am experiencing while reminiscing on her but rather on the positive past that she and I had and the positive future that she has influenced.
A close friend of mine showed me one of the quotes from one of the writings of our friend and the quote stuck out to me instantly.
That can be applied to so much and I attempt to live by that motto and help others see that they should live by that mantra as well. Problems in life can truly bring individuals down but you must realize that as long as you are still here to speak on the problems, you still have a chance to make a chance for yourself. Financially, education wise, socially and any other aspects that may trouble you can be altered by a positive outlook and approach.
Grades not how you would like? For many that I am speaking to, you just finished your first year of college or your last year of high school, meaning that you have plenty of time to make your stamp. Students entering into college, I beg that you enter into college with a strong sense of making your stamp because I guarantee that it is easier to maintain a high GPA rather than simply having to dig yourself out of a whole. And to those that have dug yourself into a hole, please believe that you are not defeated yet. Until you cannot take another class and raise your GPA, it is of the utmost importance that you attempt to improve your grades. And not so that you become fixated on a numerical figure but more importantly knowing that you placed your best effort forward and have your hard work paid back to you. If you are not going to do your best, at the end of the day you are simply wasting your own time. Each day in life should feature you consciously deciding that you are going to take control of your life and move closer to your dreams.
Now it seems that I shifted away from my friend but in actuality this all connects to her. She was a wonderful and loving person that struggled with the ills of the world as we all did but she kept a smile on no matter what and never allowed her own personal problems to interfere with the relationships that she held with people.
I take it to heart when I influence others because I know that with even a small effort I'm helping change the world. She helped me perhaps more then she ever will know while she was leaving and posthumously as well. I hope that your own personal battles were alleviated somehow through reading this because that's all I aim for.

First Lap Of The Race...
What's going on blog world? Today was the first official day of break for me after completing my first year of college and I've surely been waiting on it. I came into school expecting to simply mope through it and have a horrible time but I was pleasantly surprised. This year turned out to be a great growing experience for me and I would not trade it for anything....
I lost some people in my life, some relationships soured, my heart went through a lot of emotional toil but I'm still here. During those times, giving up seemed like a great option but I had to fall back on my religious beliefs that I've been brought this far so why would God let me just fall now. There were times where I thought I was over my head head as far at school, socially and more importantly education wise but I'm still here. Friends have disappointed me, some have moved away from me but it's all apart of life and I'm still here able to write about it. It was not all negative thoughts though...
My GPA is on the higher end of the 3.0 scale and I'm quite satisfied with that. Though I told myself I did not need any new friends, I've made plenty worthwhile friendships that I truly cherish. Not going to name them because hopefully you know that you matter to me. Any questions about it let me know because I have no problem letting people know where they stand with me. I'm really starting to feel within my soul that F.O.C. is on a brink of making the needed break but we just have to remain humble and keep working hard. Hey, you may hear PromoDave on a track soon...you didn't hear it from me though, lol.
Shoutouts though to my big brother on receiving his Master's degree. If no one else says it, I'm proud. We get enough negative news to look at on a daily basis and your dedication to proving the statistics wrong is quite admirable.
My upcoming goals and suggested goals for those around me....Take advantage of every single day. Sounds really simple but it's surely hard to grasp. Plenty of us worry about what is going to happen in the future or changing what we have done and we simply lose focus on the tasks right in front of us. I guarantee/hope that if you focus on what is right in front of you then everything else you desire will fall in place. Keep God with you and the Sky is the Limit...

Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall.
Confucius
Basically, don't allow your fears to overcome your abilities/goals. The only things that truly can hold us back are our inhibitions and our reluctance. Never be afraid to fail but rather be scared of knowing you didn't try.
Songs Suggestions....Drake "Closer" and the song he sampled, Goapele "Closer". I guarantee if you analyze it closely, you are much closer to your dreams than you have noticed. Don't be satisfied with this proximity though, be motivated to finish the race. Also, note that the length of the race is not important, rather the style and grace used to finish the race.
