Wat's goodie blog world? I've been beyond slipping on my writing, but I'm somewhat back at it...This post has been influenced by one of my current favorite songs and a friend's questions concerning the songs. The song is Alicia Keys' Unthinkable and it surely raises a lot of good questions and also can motivate a lot of good actions...If you take nothing else from this, I hope you are ready to take on something new in your life...
Beyond the basic theme of love that can be taken from the song, is just a strong message of winning the mental battle of fighting what you believe should be yours in this world. If you don't believe you deserve something, then why should anyone else? The video for the song focuses around fighting against the opposition of the world and using that as overcoming the "unthinkable." At times, the greatest challenge that we have is appeasing others over ourselves and while we should be considerate of the needs of those around us, we have to make sure our inner being is satisfied first and foremost...
So often we defeat ourselves before we even enter into different battlefields of life. We automatically think we can't pass a class just because everyone we asked has failed the class; your success is in your hands, not in the hands of others. You have to believe that no matter who has failed, you're here to create a new successful trail...This same thought should be applied to jobs as well because even if 500 people have not been hired for the job, who's to say that it is not in God's plans for you to have the job?...Don't walk away from a door before ever giving it a chance to open...
With love, we allow the expectations of society and our previous experiences to dictate our decisions much more than we should. At the end of the day, it is two people involved in a relationship, so those are the only two whose opinions matter and whose thoughts and opinions should dictate the path of the relationship. It doesn't matter if your ex cheated on you, or your best friend just got cheated on, or one of you all in the relationship has cheated before...a new relationship should start with a clean slate because we all have sinned, whether large or small, so unconditional acceptance is beyond key. Don't be afraid of approaching the life of the party; that person may be the greatest lover that has just sought out a match to approach them. Also on the other end of the spectrum, don't be afraid to approach the person that everyone else walks right past; there may be a world of love waiting there to be discovered...
Do the unthinkable after reading this...open your mind, see with your heart and never be afraid of failure. Be afraid of never knowing what could have been...

Did You Realize You Were A Champion?
Wats goodie world? I've been slipping on the writing lately but it's because I been trying to get my life in order so don't think I have just been out here lazy. With my second year of college wrapping up rather soon, I've been sitting and reflecting on what has easily been the most difficult of my life. But as I have been telling people who have gone through similar issues...you/we have made it this far so we have to rejoice in that...it's many who would do anything to be in our positions so what is the use of complaining...
Often times, we get caught up with where we want to be in life, that we ruin our chances of enjoying the space we are currently in. This is where the title comes from as the Kanye West song I got it from, preaches a similar ideology...I question you, "do you realize that you are a champion." Now while crossing the finish line should always be the goal, you have to realize it is not that moment that makes a person a champion...it is the battles that are faced along the way that make up the DNA of a champion. The trophy, the record deal, the diploma, the big paying job, all of those are signs of being a champion but they are not what makes a champion...
Failing in life is perhaps the true test of a champion because the reward one can gain from failing begins as soon as one gets back up and tries again. Defeat is only permanent when you surrender. As long as you continue to fight, take pride in it and use that as motivation for other situations. Not only does this help yourself work harder, but it builds a better circle of people around you, because the more motivated and inspired you are, the more individuals of that same pedigree will be attracted to you...
Whether or not we realize it, we all have a certain impact on those around us, through either direct or indirect measures. Many feel as if their good deeds go unrewarded, but I guarantee that another person was witness to that and whether or not they mention it to you, your dedication has helped them somewhat. Everyone has the means within them to change the world, so never believe that your efforts cannot do the same. You will never know if you can win, if you never enter into the contest...
Always take time to smell the roses, and recognize the greatness of what you have accomplished. Use your past to encourage you to do better, your present as a means of doing better, and your future as motivation to succeed. In all that you do, never put yourself down; the world is already trying to do it, so why be your own enemy?
