Wats goodie blog world? With a recent rash of good news in my life, this news has only been truly magnified by the challenges that were conquered in order to reach this point. With that, I return to my title...F.ailure I.s N.ot A.n O.ption but it can be an ointment...too often we avoid situations where success is not guaranteed because we are scared to fail but sometimes failing is the best victory...
When we step outside of our comfort areas and take on a new challenge, no matter the result, we've already won. It's not receiving the piece of paper at graduation, it's not getting the plaque for 50 years served on the job, it's not the NBA championship trophy, but it's the blood, sweat and tears that went into paving the path we took there. You'll never know the sweet taste of success, until you encounter the bitter embrace of failure. You can't know what's truly right for you in this world, if you never experience anything wrong...
Never be afraid of losing or making a mistake. Mistakes only remain mistakes when you don't learn from them, so take every encounter in this world with a grain of salt and know that it all is going towards making a better you. That is the true mark of whether or not you need to be doing something; with everything you are doing, ask yourself is how this event is going or will turn out going to make me a better person. That can aid in making better social, economic, and life in general choices. If you aren't concerned with your own well being, no one else need be, will be, or can be...
Guarding yourself due to fear of failure can be one of the biggest regrets in our lives. See the world and grab a hold to all that is in front of you. And if you fail? So be it, at least you tried and I guarantee you will be much better off from trying to get it all and failing, then simply accepting nothing and succeeding. With everything in life, you have a 50/50 shot of succeeding, so step out on a limb of faith. You may win, you may lose but you only know if you try. I can guarantee though that you will miss every shot that you never take...

Personal Sunshine
Wat's goodie blog world? I took a personal day yesterday and got a lot of good thinking done. Too often we complain about how our lines are dead, or our friends are being phony, or how we need more friends/people in our lives, but we need to be able to be happy with being alone first and foremost. If you can't have a good time just chilling with your thoughts and yourself, and constantly need the presence of another person, you've got to change that immediately. If you aren't happy by yourself, you can't expect another person to make you happy. Other people are meant to make us happier, but the base of happiness must already be established in our lives...
We must all strive to be our own personal sunshine in our lives. This can be built by recognizing our own accomplishments, growth, and potential. Too often, we wait until someone else recognizes our good deed; God sees all that we do and obviously we see what we do, so there are the only two witnesses we need and the only individuals whose praise we should seek. Further than us respecting our own accomplishments, we are the only people that we need for motivational purposes...
While it is always nice to have people rooting in our corner, those should be additions to us being our own number one cheerleader. If you don't believe in yourself or your own potential success, who else is supposed to or should believe for that matter? You have to be able to pull from within yourself the support you need, just as you pull from within yourself the ability to succeed. No one else is going to take the tests for you, go to the job interviews for you, shoot the jumpshot for you, or even simply wake up every morning for you. Depend on yourself and God and become an asset for this world. Liabilities are liable to be forgotten in this fast paced world...
It's in the darkest times and moments that character is truly revealed and being your own sunshine truly aids in making it through those moments. Use yourself and your God as the basis for your happiness, success, inspiration, and motivation and make your interactions with others the proper accessories for your life. Keep your own happiness in perspective; you have to be happy before you can reasonably help others and be a productive member of society...

My Brother's Keeper

Man I put this on my mother that I am my brother’s keeper
I know he’s a grown man, but I’m still trying to teach him
Teach him that though cash is our focus, don’t let it mislead you
And to try to change the world, using his voice over speakers
Listen to many, speak to few, and don’t afraid to fight for your views
Show the people your mind is in the deep end of the pool
CEO, know that we have your back through struggles and success
KON and Giftz keep penning punchlines none can test

Tears (Tears End A Rough Situation)
Wats goodie? This is my first stab at writing poetry for this class that I decided to put online...let me know yall suckas think lol
The phone rang again, and to the voicemail was sent the call
As apologies, flowers, candy, and teddy bears overflow her room
His indiscretion, fresh on her mind, has clouded her thoughts
Brought rain to a once sunny relationship
We and Us became a sad and solo life
Due to his lies, her heartbreak, his fun, her worries
Promises of love everlasting and the elimination of all worries
Filled that initial phone call
When it first began, she was quite happy with her own life
Hugs and kisses, pillow fights and movie nights were the theme of the room
He and she created we, and the bond was a seemingly pure relationship
Seeing one another each day consumed their thoughts
Past hurt that bruised egos were removed from the thoughts
As she seemed to be now free of all her previous worries
On Facebook all clicked like on the new status of relationship
T-Mobile already knew who she planned to call
Pictures from dates and parties of the couple painted the walls of her room
None could enter, with the consent of both, into this new life
As they seemed to have the answer to every question in life
Hints of impurity from the outside world could not even penetrate thoughts
Eyes wandered back and forth as they entered the room
She took it as people “simply hatin” and removed it from her worries
Even when he had to step away from her to answer a call
It was all viewed as foundation for a healthy relationship
There was nothing that any could say about the relationship
As he slowly removed all outside influences from her life
He checked every tweet, read every text, answered every call
If he could have, he would have pried open her dome for her thoughts
“It’s all for the best” and a kiss alleviated all of her worries
Thought she had to call first before entering his dorm room
No friends, male or female, could enter into her room
And he swore up and down full commitment to the relationship
His Facebook page deleted, his tweets now protected created her worries
But the first time he was caught with the old her truly hurt her life
Her friend’s sly comments and looks returned to her thoughts
As “Best Friend, how could you?” began her final call
102 text messages, 32 Facebook Messages, 22 Missed Calls
She avoided them all and strengthening herself was her only thought
As she came to realize that the tears running down her face helped her run the problem out of her life
