The art of being wise is knowing what to overlook. - William James
Truer words cannot be spoken
Outside influences are worth no more than small cent tokens
Living life fast with one can be slowed up by the words of others
Everyone with words of advice cannot be taken at a genuine angle
Because with every compliment given, there can be a world of underhanded beliefs
Hurt individuals hurt people so listening to those with experience isn’t always needed
Their experience cannot be used to define yours but can be used to guide such
As long as you keep in mind that some simply seek to test the borders of trust
Best friends becoming too familiar with your situation changes relationships to group outings
And how two feel about one another becomes expanded into a wide group of spouses
However, you can overlook such and move on, not only in lessons in love
But within aspects of self-growth and development
Take everything with a grain of salt
Hold everyone accountable for their actions but do not overstress the importance of faults
Because we all make mistakes while on the path to discovery
Know that the power of wisdom is founded in knowing that words hold much more weight than surface level
Speak true, listen deep, love hard, trust slow, work long and play smart
And know that you can overlook anything to achieve it all.

Dreaming Of Success...
You cannot dream yourself into a character: you must hammer and forge yourself into one. What’s going on blog world? Things been going alright lately, just trying to get through the school work and all and as always trying to find another move to make for this music stuff. I came across this quote and just knew I had to write about it. It’s very effective for what I’m going through and hoping that it does the same for you.
Henry D. Thoreau
It’s so many different ideas floating around in my head about what I want to do with my future and that’s good and all but all I’ve been doing lately is thinking and that’s keeping me in the same spot. Dreams become realities only when you put forth the work and one needs the other to survive but the hardest thing appears to be separating the two. I realize that I’m going to just have to dive into whichever field I chose to or whatever musical opportunities that present themselves that I think God is leading me towards and just trust that it all will work out. I know that faith without action is dead and that I must center my efforts around the support of my Lord and Savior.
I’m going to close this one up a little quicker then others and leave you all with another quote and just another tid bit of advice. Dream for what you want and work hard to bring that dream to fruition. Hope that you all are successful in whatever endeavors you are working towards.
The ability to convert ideas to things is the secret to outward success.
Henry Ward Beecher

Wat's Goodie?!
What's Going On Blog World? Things looking well right now as far as the school work goes and making strides towards success as far as my future is looking. I'm trying to make good plans towards this F.O.C. music (Shoutouts to ACE Boogie, Kon, Freak, Giftz, Stash). I really don't know where I wanted to go with this blog so I'm going to just start writing and see what comes out....
Valentine's Day just passed, hope it went well for you and yours. I did not have one this year but it still was a good day for me, spending QT with the famalam. All-Star weekend was decent even though I lost some dough on it lol...
What are the Bulls doing with their trades?!? I like the homie Brad Miller and all...but I don't know...I'm a fan till the dirt and just hope that it really goes well....Shoulda gave up everybody but the homie D. Rose for Amare Stoudamire lol but that's just me...
Don't want to really go into any intimate details but man low key I've really be thinking about and missing....think it's you? Never know until you ask....
That previous part was dedicated to a special person/some special persons but I'm missing my brothers and sisters just as much though. Hope all ya'll doing well in school and living up to ya'll top notch potential...
Aw, I couldn't leave without dropping an inspirational quote for you all...
I have some similar information from the most influential woman in my life, my mom dukes. "Life becomes the most difficult when we try to live in three tenses. We can live only in the present tense. When we overthink the past and the future is when we stop living comfortably."
"If you never learn anything in life, make sure you learn people"
I think of those a lot when I'm having problems because they an be applied to nearly ever problem that we face. Make sure you learn people because our interactions with people create the most problems and confusion in our life when we allow them to and don't try to do more then you can at one instance then you can. The only thing you must worry about is what goes on today because that's all you can put your hands on and just hope that it guides you in the way you wish to.

Don't waste your life in doubts and fears: spend yourself on the work before you, well assured that the right performance of this hour's duties will be the best preparation for the hours or ages that follow it.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

In Memory Of Dr. Larry Hawkins

What's going on blog world? I knew that it wouldn't have been right if I had not given some time to Dr. Larry Hawkins. I didn't take full advantage of the program that he offered at the University of Chicago because I allowed personal problems with the processes involved in the program. However, I truly respected him for all that he has done for Chicago youth and for the stamp that he has placed on the sports world in Chicago and the education system. He's put more African-American students into colleges than most public schools can stake claim to and he shall definitely be missed. The words of the Reverend Mark Taylor at the funeral stuck with me because they truly captured the essence of Dr. Hawkins. The reverend gave us four ideas to work with in memory of Dr. Hawkins
1. Push Past Your Limitations
2. Every Joker Deserves A Chance
3. Play Until The Last Second
4. One Good Run Deserves Another
I hope that Dr. Hawkins is resting in peace right now because he has surely ran a good race and is well deserving of all the praise that he received at his memorial service on Saturday, February 7, 2009. I'm hoping that I'm able to reach nearly half the audience he did with my efforts such as through this blog or just my interactions with people.
